Playgrounds & parks
For the small humans who need a different texture than sand and condo carpet. Sorted by usefulness, not by alphabet.
On Perdido Key (FL)
- Perdido Key Community Park — Bauer Road / Sorrento area. Pavilion, playground, walking paths. Where the locals' kids go after school.
- Perdido Key State Park playground area — picnic + play structure at the day-use beach.
In Orange Beach / Gulf Shores (AL)
- Waterfront Park (Orange Beach) — bay-side park on Wolf Bay with playground, walking trails, picnic, and great sunset photos.
- Gulf State Park (Gulf Shores) — multiple play areas inside the park, plus the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail (28 miles paved, bike-friendly, kid-able for shorter loops).
- Orange Beach Sportsplex — fields, courts, big open play space if you've got energy to burn.
Inland Baldwin (Foley etc.)
- Foley Heritage Park — small downtown park with playground.
- Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermans Market site — outdoor space in Foley with seasonal events.
Indoor play (when the heat or rain wins)
- OWA Tropic Falls indoor waterpark (Foley) — see OWA page
- Trampoline parks exist in Foley and Pensacola. They open and close on commercial cycles; verify before driving.
