Picking a boat, the short version
- Private six-pack (up to 6 people) if you can swing it — the trip is yours, the captain adjusts to your group.
- Bigger group boats take walk-on-style parties and cost less per head.
- Inshore (bay, flats, the Pass) is calmer, cheaper, and better with kids; offshore is where the tuna and the sunburn live.
