Adventure Island

AL Unclaimed
attraction · Perdido Beach Boulevard

The five-story volcano on the Orange Beach strip — 30 years of mini golf, go-karts, and arcade noise.

You don’t need directions to Adventure Island — you need the volcano. It’s five stories tall, it erupts with steam and a light show, and it’s been the landmark of the Perdido Beach Boulevard strip for 30 years. Family owned and operated the whole time, which is rarer than it sounds in beach-town amusement.

What you’re in for

Two 18-hole mini golf courses wind around the volcano, plus a 9-hole indoor blacklight course when the afternoon storm rolls through. Beyond the putters: a go-kart track, bumper boats, laser tag, kiddie rides, and an arcade with 100-plus games running on their Treasure Card system. Two new attractions — the Tidal Wave Coaster and Flight School — have been announced as coming.

Good to know

Open 9:30am to 11pm, seven days a week, year-round — which matters, because most of the corridor’s family stuff goes seasonal. That late close is the move: golf under the volcano lights after dinner beats standing in the 4pm sun.

Why locals care

Every kid who grew up vacationing here has a photo in front of that volcano. It’s the rainy-day plan, the last-night-of-the-trip plan, and the “we need two hours of peace” plan, all in one parking lot.
