The Rec Center on Wilson Boulevard is where Orange Beach actually works out — a city-run facility open since January 2003, and the answer when you want a real gym without joining anything or paying resort-fitness-room prices. It shares a campus with the Aquatics Center next door, and a cheap day pass covers both.
What’s inside
A full gymnasium, a fitness room (24/7 access for members), two multipurpose rooms, and a game room. There’s also a dedicated teen space where young adults can hang out, play games, and do homework — a small thing that tells you who this building is really for. Fitness and yoga classes run on a posted calendar.
Good to know
Building hours are Monday through Friday 7 to 6, Saturday 8 to noon, closed Sunday — though members get round-the-clock fitness room access. If you’re in town for a week and your rental’s “gym” is one dusty treadmill, the day pass here is the fix: five bucks at the Aquatics Center desk covers both facilities. It’s a municipal building, not a boutique gym, and that’s the appeal — clean, functional, full of people who live here.
