Tanger Outlets Foley (AL)

Bigger, broader, the regional outlet anchor. Polo, Nike, Coach, Under Armour, J.Crew, Levi's, dozens of others. Movie theater on-site. Food court. Open-air, walkable. Place page →

About 20-25 minutes north of Orange Beach. Easy drive. Brutal traffic on holiday weekends and back-to-school Saturdays.

Outlets at OWA (AL)

Smaller than Tanger Foley but next to OWA, which makes the combo trip work — drop the family at the amusement park or waterpark, do an hour at the outlets, regroup.

Making the trip work

From Orange Beach it is a straight shot north on Highway 59 through Foley; from Perdido Key add the drive west along the beach road or up through Lillian, so budget closer to forty-five minutes than twenty-five. Go early on weekdays if you can — the lots fill and the food court lines get long by early afternoon in summer, and holiday weekends turn Highway 59 into a parking lot both directions. The outlets are open-air, which is pleasant in spring and fall and genuinely hot in July; that is when the on-site theater and the indoor stores earn their keep.

The rainy-day logic is simple: when the beach flag says no, the outlets are one of the few places within an hour where a family can burn four hours indoors-ish without anyone complaining. Pair it with a grocery stop on the way back through Foley or Orange Beach and you have salvaged the day.

Other shopping

Pensacola has additional shopping centers eastward; Cordova Mall and a stretch of Bayou Boulevard cover the conventional mall and big-box experience if Foley isn't the right direction.
