Where do I park at the beach in Perdido Key?
Your most reliable beach parking is at Perdido Key State Park and Big Lagoon State Park, which have real lots for a small day-use fee. There are also several public beach accesses along Perdido Key Drive (Highway 292) with limited free or metered spots. On summer weekends, arrive before mid-morning — the lots fill fast and roadside parking is heavily enforced.
The reliable lots
Perdido Key State Park and Big Lagoon State Park both have proper parking for a few dollars per vehicle — the safest bet if you don't want to circle. Gulf-side is the state park; bay-side calm water is Big Lagoon.
Public accesses
Escambia County maintains public beach accesses along Perdido Key Drive. Spots are limited and some are metered, so have a backup. Do not park on the road shoulder or in private condo/resort lots — you will get ticketed or towed.
Timing
In peak season, morning is everything. Get there before 10am on weekends. If lots are full, the state parks tend to hold out longer than the small public accesses. Check the day's conditions first on Beach Today.
