The Publix at the intersection of Sorrento Road and Innerarity Point Road is the FL-side locals’ grocery store. Full-format Publix — bakery, deli, sushi counter, real produce section, alcohol aisle — and far enough off Perdido Key Drive that the parking lot doesn’t go to war in season.
This is where the year-round residents of the FL side do their actual grocery shopping. The other Publix at the entrance to the Key gets the tourist traffic; this one gets the locals. Quieter, faster checkout, same product selection.
If you’re renting a condo and you want a real grocery run for a week — go here. If you forgot one thing on the way back to the condo and the line at the closer Publix is unconscionable — go here.
Also relevant: the strip mall around it has a few other essential local-life retailers (dry cleaner, urgent care, the pharmacy). It’s the closest thing the FL side has to a real “town center.”
Locals vs. tourists
This is where the FL-side year-round residents actually shop. The other Publix at the entrance to the Key catches the tourist traffic; this one stays quieter, with faster checkout and the same product selection. If you’re provisioning a condo for the week, the calmer lot and shorter lines make it the smarter run.
Getting there
At the Sorrento Road / Innerarity Point Road intersection, set back off Perdido Key Drive so the parking lot doesn’t go to war in season. The strip around it carries the other essentials of local life — dry cleaner, urgent care, pharmacy — which is why it functions as the FL side’s closest thing to a town center.
