- Which flag applies. Perdido Key is Escambia County, Florida — its flag is separate from Orange Beach's a few miles west, and the two don't always agree. Surface conditions on the cam say nothing about rip currents; see today's Perdido Key flag and conditions before you go in.
- What the Florida beach shows. Perdido Key's Gulf front is a mix of condo stretches and long runs of undeveloped state-park and national-seashore sand, so this side generally looks emptier on camera than the Alabama strip.
